Erin Brewer, LMHC-QS
Hi there!
My name is Erin Brewer and I am a NBCC board certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified LMHC supervisor (LMHC-QS), and EMDRIA-approved EMDR provider.
I began my journey as a mental health therapist in 2013 in Naples, Florida after receiving my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University of Sarasota. Prior to moving to Florida, I was living in Ohio and pursuing a degree in Fine Arts when I realized I had a deeper calling in life.
In my 12 years of experience, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of children, adolescents, adults, and families in the community health setting, in-patient/mental health agency setting, out-patient setting, as well as virtual setting. I have a wide range of experience providing individual and family support in navigating significant mental health challenges, impaired social/relational dynamics, and overcoming life barriers in pursuit of ultimate health, healing, and wellness.
I would like to think I bring some unique qualities to the table as a therapist, including humor and creativity. I am aware that these qualities are not well-suited for every moment, but I like to use these skills to break down stigmas/barriers so my clients can feel comfortable taking on personal challenges and fostering a sense of confidence and accomplishment. I like to lead with empathy and compassion as I never know how long it has taken someone to muster the courage to access therapy services and I am aware the motivation doesn’t always come from a positive and/or defining moment.

How I Practice
I am very aware that I have the potential to make or break someone’s desire to access therapy in the future and I take this as a very important responsibility in my practice.
My number one goal, as an EMDR therapist, is to provide you with a safe space for every aspect of therapy (both positive and negative). I like to utilize an integrative approach to EMDR therapy based on your presenting needs, treatment goals, as well as personal goals. In utilizing evidence-based treatment methods, I believe EMDR therapy and CBT therapy go hand-in-hand toward helping individuals make more meaningful and lasting change by exploring the relationship between our thoughts and actions, challenging maladaptive thought processes and behaviors, and applying new skills to navigate past, present, and future challenges.
I believe it is very important to foster a sense of independence, confidence, and creativity during our collaboration. I believe that healing is, indeed a journey, and both personal challenges and personal achievements hold an important space in this process.
Together, we will collaborate to develop the skills that are right for you, how to implement and adapt these skills toward past/present/future challenges, and evaluate your experiences utilizing these skills in the present.
We Are Very Good.
