Robert G. Engle, LMHC
Hi there!
My name is Robert, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), License Number MH22765. I focus on helping individuals with ADHD overcome distressing life events (trauma) through the use of EMDR Therapy and CBT therapy.
I studied at Oral Roberts University, where I received my Masters of Counseling degree. In my twelve years of clinical experience, I gathered a diverse set of skills working with adults, young adults, teenagers, and their families in an in-patient mental health hospital, a community psychiatric outpatient service for adults, an outpatient office, and most recently on the college campus at Florida Southwestern State College (FSW).
I have provided individual counseling to many struggling with mental health issues and behavioral concerns. I’m highly trained in working with people who are living with ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship problems.

How I Practice
My Theory of Counseling
I believe therapy can be used to meet individuals where they are and help them challenge and change to become the best versions of themselves. I am a neurodiversity-affirming, culturally responsive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming therapist who celebrates your full identity.
I am confident in helping individuals develop efficient ways to communicate, implement appropriate skills for coping, foster healthy relationships, set appropriate boundaries, and increase self-awareness and self-esteem.
I look to help my clients identify negative self-talk, catastrophic thoughts, and feelings of hopelessness. This often helps them reframe the pandemic and social inequalities as opportunities for personal growth and courage, as individuals explore ways to engage today’s problems together.
Using an integrative approach helps heal the whole person, not just the symptoms you experience. The presenting needs of the person help me adapt the style and pace of therapy to meet there needs. I promote informed choice when it comes to treatment and collaborate with you in order to ensure all needs are being addressed and you make the best decisions for yourself. You will learn, practice, and be challenged to apply skills in your life to feel confident in meeting your goals for a better life.
I specialize in using EMDR Therapy and CBT Therapy to provide evidence-based treatment methods to help my clients achieve more and overcome things from there past. By incorporating both EMDR Therapy and CBT Therapy, I can offer a unique bottom-up and top-down treatment approach. EMDR Therapy engages the sensory processing system, allowing clients to reprocess traumatic memories at a physiological level.
Simultaneously, CBT Therapy targets cognitive patterns, helping individuals identify and reshape unhelpful beliefs and behaviors. This comprehensive approach empowers our clients to heal on multiple levels, addressing both the emotional wounds of the past and the cognitive patterns that may perpetuate distress in the present.
I’m dedicated to creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard and supported. We understand the courage it takes to embark on a healing journey, and we are here to guide you every step of the way. I am committed to your well-being and will work collaboratively with you to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
We Are Very Good.
